Things to note if check-in at Nekoyado is late

Late arrival at the cat inn will affect not only reception, but also dinner, pick-up, bathing, lights out, and cat safety management at the entrance. As soon as we know that you will be late, we will contact you using the method specified by the inn, rather than relying solely on the message you used to make the reservation.

Contact the inn before the scheduled time

If transport disruption or congestion changes your expected arrival, tell the inn your current location, transport mode, new arrival estimate, and whether you have a meal reservation. Even if you cannot estimate an arrival time, discuss when you can next contact the inn.

Do not operate the device while driving; stop in a safe place or have your companion contact you.

Please confirm dinner and transportation separately.

Even if you are able to check in, dinner may not be served after the dinner time. We do not take reservations for granted, as they are related to food hygiene and staffing.

Shuttle cars also have capacity and operating times. If your train is delayed, you can wait at the inn, take the next train, or take a taxi. Please also refer to Notes on shuttle reservations.

I think time with resident cats will be shorter.

The time a resident cat goes out to common areas is based on the cat’s daily rhythm, not the customer service shift. If you arrive late, do not ask to wake up the resident cat or be taken to your room.

Even if you can’t meet the staff when you arrive, just ask them once how you’ll spend the next morning. There is no guarantee that you will meet the staff.

At the entrance, prioritize the door over your luggage.

The entranceway is dark at night, making it difficult to notice if a cat comes to your feet. Leave the door open, do not carry your luggage, and wait for directions to your accommodation. Automatic doors and double doors will not open at the same time without permission.

Avoid calling the cat loudly, increasing lighting, or using flash photography, and complete the reception quietly.

What can happen if you arrive late without contacting us

If you arrive after the specified time, your reservation may be canceled, dinner may not be provided, transportation may not be available, or your admission method may be changed. In some cases, you may not be able to confirm the accommodation right away just by sending a chat message on the reservation site. Please save the emergency contact information on your booking confirmation.

Things to check after arrival

  • Next morning breakfast and check-out time
  • Time available for bathing
  • Nighttime entrances and exits and locks
  • Places where cats may be found
  • Treatment of guest room doors and windows
  • Traffic information for the next day

Message when you know you will be late

Please tell me/us that I have a reservation for today, ○○. Due to train delays, the scheduled arrival time is expected to change from 18:00 to 19:30.Please let me know how dinner and transportation will be affected, what entrance to use upon arrival, and when I need to contact you again.

Tell the inn in one message your booking name, original arrival time, revised arrival estimate, transport mode, and whether dinner or a pickup is arranged. Simply saying “I will be a little late” does not give the inn enough information to decide how to handle meals or pickups.

Decision to abandon arrival

Situation Action
Past the final reception Don’t force yourself to go there; talk to the hotel
Can’t make it in time for the last shuttle bus Check before arranging a taxi etc. at your own discretion
Warnings and road closures Do not continue moving for the purpose of seeing cats
Unable to contact the inn Don’t enter the dangerous mountain path and wait in a safe place

Accommodation availability and cancellation fees will be determined by the inn. It’s safer to share early than to hide a delay and rush.

When you arrive, do not rush to take pictures with the cat, but first listen to the explanation about the evacuation route, keys, breakfast, and the place where the cat can go. Don’t run around looking for the cat to make up for time lost by arriving late.

Check the schedule for the next morning on the spot, and don’t leave any explanations omitted.

Summary

If you are arriving late, your first priority is to inform the inn quickly and accurately. Start your stay safely by accepting the services we can’t provide, not waking the resident cat, and following escape prevention at the entrance.
