We are posting existing accommodation reviews and photographed images. According to the official common information confirmed in 2026-09-05, the goemon-style bath is not available for use for the time being. The photos of the bath below are records from the time of our visit and do not guarantee that the facility is currently available. This is an update based on cross-referencing with official information, not a re-visit report.
Upon hearing that there is a place where one can spend time with cats while camping, we actually went there. It is the “Hanahana no Sato Auto Campsite” in Chiba Prefecture, Futtsu. It is a campsite that is irresistible for cat lovers, as the cats greet you from the moment you arrive.
What kind of place is Hanahana no Sato?

This is an auto-campsite spread across the satoyama of Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture. Its characteristic feature is the terraced site layout that utilizes the original paddy field terrain, and it also houses the old farmhouse cafe & gallery “Dam.” The dining options are well-developed, including stone oven pizza and rice cooked over a traditional stove (reservation required).
Access from the city center is approximately 60 to 90 minutes using the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line. Among campsites in the Boso area, it is a relatively easy location to reach.

A Campsite Where the Cats Are the Stars
The official homepage states that cats may occasionally play around the campsite or inside the tents. Please do not confine cats inside the tent, nor try to lure them in if they do not come. The cat introduction page clearly states that they are currently not conducting rescue or adoption activities. Living with rescued cats and accepting adoptions are separate matters.
What cannot be omitted when talking about Hanahana no Sato are the cats living here. Cats that came here for various reasons live within the premises. While the old article introduced them as 30 or more, the exact current number could not be confirmed in this official confirmation. Since they are free-roaming, they sit next to you without you noticing, or start napping beside the tent, enjoying a cat life that is too free.
The luxury of being surrounded by cats from morning
A few moments after arrival, a tuxedo cat in grey and white quietly approached. It showed little wariness and hardly moved even when the camera was pointed at it.

This is a brown and white cat. Basking in the sunlight with squinted eyes, it is completely relaxed.

The brown and white cat sitting on the grass and looking around. For the cat, this must be a comfortable place.

Guardian of the stone steps
There is a cat settling in comfortably as if it were its usual spot on the stone steps within the premises. The combination of the scenery created by the tiered terrain and the cat is simply picturesque.

Also comes to play at the tent sites
The next morning, we discovered a white cat lying down right next to the tent, relaxing as if it were its own territory.

Even after getting up and sitting back down, it remains completely in its own pace. After glancing at us once, it again averted its gaze.

The photo below shows a scene where the cat was eating a treat during our visit. Please do not take the existence of this photo as confirmation that bringing treats or feeding is currently permitted. Check with the staff regarding the specific cat, type, and amount; do not feed unless permission is granted.

Even after the Churu is finished, the white cat remains there. The perfect combination of tent and cat.

They are also there at night
The cats’ lives continue even after sunset. A brown-and-white cat lies stretched out with its legs spread on the board, and a cat gazes at us through the window glass. They show different expressions depending on whether it is day or night.

Photos of the bath taken during visits and current notice of suspension
This is the facility of the goemon-style bath photographed during our visit. According to the official guide confirmed in 2026-09-05, it is stated that it will not be available for a while; therefore, if you are booking with the purpose of using this, please check the resumption status first.

Below is a photo of the shower facility during our visit. Please check the current usage method, time, and fees at the official common information and the reception desk.

Water facilities and stay conditions to check before booking
The official guidelines request that you do not drink the well water from the kitchen area raw, but instead boil it for cooking. Please confirm at the reception whether to bring your own drinking water or to prepare a container to have a container filled with tap water.
Also, there is information on the official homepage regarding the reconstruction of the shared bathroom in the bungalow and the use of the E-site toilet. Please check the current status of the construction when making your reservation. If you are concerned about moving at night, also ask for the route from the section where you stay to the toilet you can use.
While enjoying time with the cats, do not leave out ingredients or trash, and check that no cats have entered before dismantling the tent or departing by car. Also, please share the cat treat and toy confirmation items with your travel companions.
