A small cat rescued in the garden

In the fall of 2014, there were many days when I could hear a kitten’s voice at night. Chibi, which at the time was about the size of a palm, was found by a family in their garden and rescued. The tentative name “Chibi” became the name.

He has been living with his family at Atca since before it started as an inn, and is currently one of the resident cats who knows the history of the inn for a long time.

Activist who doesn’t care about rain or water

While many cats generally avoid water, Chibi will walk outside and even go into the water on rainy days. He sometimes follows his family on walks, and has an active side that follows his own interests.

Avoid inviting guests to play in the water just because they are good at water. The key is to quietly monitor their daily activities.

Respect the sense of distance when spending time alone

Chibi prefers to spend time alone rather than being constantly in a group with other cats. It’s not that I don’t like people, but I’m the type of person who likes to interact while keeping my distance.

Please respect Chibi’s chosen distance by not chasing or picking him up when he does not approach. The long hairs that grow between the fingers are another characteristic that can be observed from a distance.

Points to keep in mind when interacting with Chibi

  • When the cat is resting alone, leave it alone.
  • Don’t chase me on rainy days or when I’m out.
  • Don’t force people to play in the water
  • Do not pick up someone suddenly if they come close to you
  • Don’t expect too much guest-room visits or interaction

The story of how Chibi was rescued in the garden, its behavior that makes it insensitive to water and rain, and its tendency to prefer to spend time alone are records from Chibi, the resident cat at Pension Atca. We do not guarantee that you will be able to go into the water, walk with us, or interact with us on the day of your stay.
