“Minamiaso STAY HAPPY” in Minamiaso Village, Kumamoto Prefecture is a glamping facility where you can enjoy bell tents and nature experiences. The current accommodation plan clearly states that “many cats will greet you upon arrival,” and cats are the unique feature of the facility.
Many cats welcome you
Since the accommodation plan specifies that multiple cats will greet you, the distance from the cats is classified as B “inside the inn/you can interact with them in a dedicated space.”We can conclude that this is a facility where cats come out near visitors, but we cannot confirm that there are instructions to enter the guest room.
At the glamping site, the safety of the cats is affected by the coming and going of people and cars, fire, and food. Do not lure the cats into the tent and do not feed them BBQ food, bones, skewers, or onions. Before moving your car, check to make sure there are no cats under the tires or body of the car.
Bell tent and shared facilities
Under the current accommodation plan, the bell tent on the deck is approximately 40 square meters, and there are shared facilities such as flush toilets, a communal kitchen, and a campfire place. Because it is a tent accommodation, the temperature, noise, insects, and wind and rain will be different from a hotel guest room.
Rental items such as electric blankets and stoves are also available, but the contents change depending on the season and plan. Please check the bedding, power supply, air conditioning/heating, shower/bathing, and handling in case of stormy weather before making a reservation.
BBQ, bonfire, night cafe
You can rent cooking utensils and tableware, pay firewood, and sell ingredients such as wild game and local vegetables. We also have plans that allow you to bring your own ingredients, so you can organize in advance how much to prepare.
Follow the staff’s instructions when building a fire or chopping wood, and keep cats away from fire and knives if they are nearby. Clean equipment as specified after use, and do not leave leftover food or trash where cats can access it.
Solo travel plans also available
Current accommodation plans include solo STAY for solo travelers. Generally, glamping tends to be priced for multiple people, but the fact that it specifically provides guidance for single use is an easy-to-understand feature for people who want to enjoy nature with their cats alone.
However, the days and fees that can be used by one person vary. Please check nighttime movement, emergency contact methods, and surrounding brightness when checking in, and enjoy the bonfire and starry sky as much as you can.
Minamiaso is convenient to travel by car
The location is 5953-1 Kawayo, Minamiaso Village. Official check-in is from 15:00 to 17:00, check-out is until 10:00.It is said that it takes about 10 minutes to drive to the surrounding hot spring facilities, so it is practical to travel by car, including sightseeing around the facility.
Weather and road conditions can be changeable in the mountains, so plan to arrive before sunset. If you wish to visit by public transportation, please contact the facility in advance to arrange transportation from the nearest station/bus stop or taxi.
