The day before the cat accommodation trip is the day to check if there are any changes, rather than increasing your belongings. Check the directions for transportation and lodging, and share with your companions that the interaction with the cat will depend on the cat’s wishes on the day.

Summary of reservation details on one screen
Save inn name, address, phone number, check-in time, room, meals, payment, and reservation number. Make sure that facilities or annex buildings with similar names are not registered on the map.
For stays with dinner, the final arrival time is important; for stays without meals, the surrounding dining situation is important. If you’re going to be late, I’ll let you know the day before.
See the latest announcements on the official website
Check to see if there are any announcements regarding closures, roads, transportation, hot spring facilities, resident cat’s health, or breaks. Don’t just look at old social media posts and assume that you can meet the same cat today.
If there is a notice that the cat will be taking a break, we will not use that as an excuse to call you and will switch to enjoying the inn itself.
Check weather and traffic for round trip
We look not only at the time of arrival, but also at snowfall, heavy rain, strong winds, and cancellations the next morning. In mountainous areas, check refueling, road regulations, and winter equipment, and avoid forced travel.
Check the last flight and connection allowance for public transportation, and save a screenshot. Please reconfirm the pick-up time and meeting location.
Inspect luggage for Nekoyado
Based on the List of things to bring to the cat hostel, prepare clothes that are easy to care for even if they get hairy, regular medicines, masks, adhesive cleaners, and chargers. There is no need to bring in cat litter or treats.
Avoid using strong perfumes or essential oils, and turn off your flash. Choosing not to shoot is also part of the preparation.
Align expectations with your companions
We do not promise that the cat will always come to your room or that you will be able to hold it. If there are people who don’t like cats or who have allergies, please check with the inn to see if cats are allowed in the common areas or guest room.
We share the minimum promise of not opening the front door or windows without permission, not giving them food, and not putting their hands in their beds.
Don’t push yourself too hard when you’re not feeling well
If you have a fever or other symptoms of infection, check the regulations of your accommodation and consult with them. If you suspect that the cat or other animal has an infectious disease, please consult your accommodation or veterinarian to avoid bringing the disease into your home through clothing or luggage.
Checklist for the previous day

- Check the official announcement
- Check round-trip weather, roads, and service
- Confirm pickup and drop-off meeting location and time
- Prepare regular medicines and practical clothes
- Share how to interact with cats with your companions

Previous day’s time series
| Estimated time | Things to do |
|---|---|
| Morning | Check the latest hotel announcements, weather, traffic, and traffic regulations |
| Afternoon | Share reservation details, transportation, meals, and arrival time with your companions |
| Evening | Check luggage, medicine, chargers, cash, and ID |
| Night | Leave early and save contact information for schedule changes |
| Before departure on the day | Reconfirm operation information and communication from the hotel |
Even if the cat hasn’t been posted on SNS the day before, we won’t make assumptions about the cat’s presence or health condition and keep asking you. We will only ask you for a summary of important unconfirmed information such as guest room visits, allergies, inn rules, etc. that are necessary for making reservation decisions.
Conditions for deciding cancellation/postponement
If your companion is not feeling well, there is an alarm, traffic is blocked, or you don’t have enough winter gear, we will not force ourselves to leave to see the cat. We will check the cancellation conditions and contact the inn as soon as possible. A trip that doesn’t arrive safely puts a strain on the cat and the inn.
Summary
Checking the day before is not a task to increase the probability of meeting a cat, but rather to reduce the possibility of arriving late or forgetting something, and to prepare for arriving without disrupting the daily life of the inn and the cat.
