“Mini Cat B&B” in Taitung City, eastern Taiwan is a guesthouse where three cats live in the living room, and whose philosophy is to communicate about cat behavior and welfare. Located about 2 minutes by car from Taitung Station, you can combine time with resident cats with sightseeing in Taitung.
An inn that started with the rescue of Mini
According to Official website, the inn began in 2012 when they adopted Mini, a 200-gram kitten rescued from a dog, and inherited the names of the kittens born afterwards, Yone Ta Rei, to the facility.
The current information explains that there are three cats inside the inn who greet guests in the living room. It’s not just a themed inn with cat-patterned interiors, but a space where actual cats live. This site is classified into B, where you can interact in common areas. Since entry to the guest room cannot be officially confirmed, I will not give it a rating of A.
A place to understand cat behavior
The inn’s goal is to understand cat behavior and improve the welfare of cats living in households. We also guide conversations with people who want to think about it before getting a cat, and people who are having trouble with their cat’s behavior.
For travelers, it’s more important to see how cats are doing than to touch them. It is in accordance with the inn’s philosophy to watch the cat’s ears, tail, body orientation, and behavior of walking away, and not to chase after the cat has finished interacting.
For two, three, and four person rooms and backpackers
The official facility information shows guest rooms for two, three, and four people, and rooms for people with backpacks. Each room has different bedding and occupancy, and children are included in the occupancy.
In Taiwan, the reduction of disposable amenities is progressing. Officials also advise you to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, so please check the supplies listed in your reservation plan and prepare accordingly.
Location close to Taitung Station
The inn is on Xinzhan 1st Street in Taitung City, about 2 minutes by car from Taitung Station. If walking, consider the temperature, rain, and luggage; taking a taxi from the station is another option.
Separate transportation is required to reach Taitung City Center, Tiehua Village, Seaside Park, etc. Please match your train arrival time with your check-in time, and contact the hotel if you will be late.

Summary
In addition to having cats, Mini Cat B&B is characterized by the inn’s commitment to understanding cat behavior and enhancing their welfare. Being close to Taitung Station makes it easy to visit without having to drive long, which is helpful when traveling abroad.
Don’t ask your cat to do tricks or serve you, just observe their natural behavior in the living room, and ask the staff at the hostel if there’s anything you don’t understand. This is a cat inn that can serve as a polite entrance even for people who have never owned a cat.
