Minamiaizu Town Tourism and Products Association says that if you tell the owner, “I want to pet cats,” you will be able to pet 6 cats. The place for interaction is the cat room, and there is no confirmation that cats can freely come to the guest room. For this reason, this site classifies it as B.
Having a dedicated space makes it easy to separate the living areas of cats and people, but we prioritize the availability of the space and the number of people on the day. If the cat is hiding or resting, don’t try to force it out.

According to the current official information, six cats live there, and the tourist association also introduces one dog. If you don’t like dogs or have an animal allergy, please consult with us before making a reservation regarding the area you will be passing through and the distance from animals.
The names, personalities, and combinations of cats you can meet will change, so we won’t fix them in this article. Before entering the cat room, it is important to check whether the cat can be handled, photographed, held, and given treats, and end the interaction when the cat leaves.

According to the tourist association, there are a total of 7 guest rooms. There are semi-double Western-style rooms with baths and toilets, and other Western-style rooms are also introduced. There are guest room amenities such as Wi-Fi, TV, washroom, towels and toothbrushes, but not all guest rooms have the same bathroom/toilet.
There is also a mini manga cafe in the basement. This is an inn where you can choose to spend time with resident cats, reading, and surrounding activities to relax inside the inn.
Breakfast and evening meals and stay in the highlands
The recommended meal times are dinner at 6pm and breakfast at 8am. If you are arriving late or have food allergies, please check the offer and reception conditions in advance.
Takasuhara is close to the Aizukogen Takatsue Ski Resort, and is a great base not only for skiing and snowboarding in the winter, but also for mountain climbing, mountain streams, autumn leaves, and buckwheat fields from spring to fall. There is information about discounted bathing tickets at Shirakaba no Yu, which is a 6-minute walk away.
Head by car or pre-booked transportation
The location is 520 Takasuhara, Minamiaizu Town. Approximately 90 minutes by car from Nasushiobara IC and approximately 30 minutes by taxi from Aizukogen Ozeguchi Station. There is a free shuttle service available from the station, but please be sure to check the operating conditions when making a reservation. There are 7 parking spaces.
