If you are going to an inn with cats without driving, choose candidates not just based on the minutes from the station, but also on whether you can walk to the entrance, whether you meet the conditions for a shuttle reservation, and whether you can secure a return trip the next day. Even with the same “minutes from the station” or “shuttle available,” the ease of use differs depending on whether it is a small group trip or if you have large luggage.
On this page, we will compare four accommodations where we confirmed specific travel conditions. This is not a ranking that lists all candidates nationwide.
First, compare travel conditions

Walking time and shuttle times are based on the information provided by the accommodation at the time of confirmation. Even if a transfer is listed, it does not mean that you have made a reservation for your desired shuttle. Please confirm your accommodation plan, dates, number of people, and shuttle schedule.

Convenient transportation and a place where you can meet and interact with cats are two different conditions.

Which transportation method is right for you?
If you have a small group and want to decide your own arrival time, first research accommodations that are within walking distance from the station. Even at an inn with a short walking distance like Hotel Daiki, you still need to move from the platform to the ticket gate and station exit separately.
If you have large luggage or want to avoid stairs, do not decide solely on “5 minutes from the station.” Iruka Hostel shows the emergency staircase to its entrance in official photographs. Before booking, explain your luggage and companions’ circumstances to the hostel and ask whether you can enter without difficulty.
If you are arriving at an inn about a 20-minute walk away in rain or after sunset, select a train after confirming your pick-up and drop-off. If you are advised that there are no taxis stationed at the station, such as at Suehirokan, avoid planning to do something after arriving at the station.
If there are conditions regarding the number of people for pick-up and drop-off, please inform the inn of the number of people traveling with you first. Atca’s condition of 4 people is a separate matter from whether one person can stay. For small groups, we assume the use of taxis or consultation with the inn, and also confirm the return transportation.
Check before going on foot
Look at official access photos and maps to check station exits, inn entrances, stairs and slopes, and night arrival times. Treat the number of minutes you walk to the inn entrance as a guide, and take time for transfers and shopping separately.
If you need confirmation, you can explain the conditions by asking specifically as follows.
On [month]/[day], I plan to arrive at [station] around [time], carrying one carry-on suitcase, and intend to walk there. Please tell me/us the recommended route, whether there are stairs, and alternative transportation options in case of rain.
Read what is already written on the official page, and only ask questions about what is not posted. Even if you find a resident cat at the entrance, please do not call it to the street or leave your luggage and follow it; instead, check the reception and door directions first.
Please specify the round trip when booking the transfer.
Just writing “I would like to pick up and drop off” in the notes section of your accommodation reservation may not have confirmed the arrangement of the car. Check the summary of applicable stations, meeting place, arriving train or other service, number of people, luggage, fare, reservation deadline, return train or other service, and contact method in case of delay.
1 night from ○ month ○ day, reservation name ○○, ○ adult. I would like to arrive at ○○ station at ○○ o’clock on the outward journey, and at ○ o’clock on the next day for the return journey. There are ○ carry cases. Please let us know if you can pick up or drop off, meeting location, fee, and contact information in case of delay.
If the information on the official access differs from the plan you booked, please contact the inn and inform them of the plan and dates you wish to use. Do not obstruct driving in the transportation vehicle, and do not call for the resident cat to approach the vehicle upon arrival.

Before departure, check the Disaster Prevention Information from the Japan Meteorological Agency and the operation information of the transportation facility you will be using. Please do not make unreasonable connections to ensure you have time to meet the cat, and if you think you will be late, please contact the inn. We cannot guarantee that your itinerary will coincide with the cat’s appearance time.
Search for other candidates
Other than these 4 accommodations, you can search for accommodations within walking distance from the station Reference or Search for accommodations with shuttle service by combining area and distance to the cats. Search attributes also do not guarantee shuttle service or walking on the desired date.
Summary
For a cat accommodation trip without a car, we will confirm the walking distance, entrance stairs, number of people for shuttle service, reservations, and return the next day. In addition to having contact with cats, choose an accommodation that allows for round-trip transportation based on the number of people and luggage that day.
