The shelter’s official website describes a spacious shelter where about 100 rescue cats live freely without being confined to cages. It operates as a cat café and also works to connect interaction with people to opportunities for cats to meet new families.
Apart from the open shelter during the day, Neko no Shippo guests can apply for special nighttime admission by reservation. According to the current official payment information, this plan is limited to guests staying from 18:00 to 22:00.The cat’s physical condition and shelter operations are prioritized, so please check the admission time and rules on the day when making a reservation.

Regular guest room next to the shelter
The official guide introduces accommodation rooms with 12 and 15 tatami mats, two beds, a sofa bed, and a TV.The current payment page allows for a maximum of 3 people. You will also be provided with information on communal facilities such as refrigerators, microwaves, electric kettles, washing machines, and hair dryers.
It is clearly stated that it can be used alone, so people who want to combine time with their cat and Chichibu trip at their own pace can also consider it.
Rental room on the second floor of the shelter
For those who want to spend time closer to cats, there is a 9-tatami rental room on the second floor of the shelter. Usage information is available from 6pm to 9am the next morning, with a maximum of 2 people. There are beds and a pet area, and separate night admission applications are required for each person.
If you choose this room, there is no guarantee that the cat you want will stay nearby for a long time or come to your bedding. Avoid activities such as picking up a cat, waking a resting cat, or chasing a cat at night, and give priority to staff guidance.
Confirmation before meals, bathing, and reservations
On the official page, we were unable to confirm the current information that meals are included in the stay. Don’t assume that meals are included; when making a reservation, ask if you can bring your own food and drinks, if you can prepare them, and where you can buy them nearby. It’s also important not to bring food into the cat area or give the cat human food.
In the rental room, you will be provided with a bathing ticket for the nearby “Hoshine no Yu” and a free shuttle bus. Please check separately for operation dates and times, as well as the business status of bathing facilities.

Access
The location is “3848-1 Shimoyoshida, Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture” according to the official information of the neighboring Laugh Nyanko Kingdom.
For public transportation, take the Seibu Kanko Bus from Seibu Chichibu Station, and it is an 8-minute walk from the “Muku Shrine” bus stop. Information on detours and temporary bus stops due to the Yoshida Bridge reconstruction work is posted, so be sure to check the Laughing Nyanko Kingdom Access Guide and the current Seibu Bus timetable before you depart.
If you are driving, you will also be affected by the Yoshida Bridge construction, so please check the official detour information instead of proceeding based on the information on your car navigation system.
