Ryokan Miki in Sakaide, Kagawa Prefecture, is a family-style inn with 7 guest rooms within walking distance of JR Sakaide Station. A review posted in June 2026 about a stay in May confirms that a resident cat welcomed guests at the entrance.

Resident cat greets you at the entrance

The cat’s presence can be confirmed in the very recent accommodation records, but the inn’s official guide does not indicate how to interact with it, the cat’s name, or its range of activity. Therefore, it is classified as C “meeting resident cat (unconfirmed contact)”.

The fact that one guest is greeted does not guarantee that a cat will be at the door every day. If a cat approaches, ask the host if you can touch it, and do so in a position that does not block the cat’s access to the entrance. Please also avoid directing them to the guest room.

7 Japanese-style rooms with shared baths

According to the Sakaide Ryokan Association, there are 7 guest rooms in Japanese style. There is no bath in each room, and you will use the bath inside the inn. A review in 2026 also recorded that baths and toilets are shared.

While you can enjoy traditional ryokan features such as tatami mats, transoms, and high ceilings, those looking for a private bath and toilet may not meet the requirements. Please check the usage hours of shared facilities, availability for private use, non-smoking/non-smoking, and stairs and steps before making a reservation.

Enjoy Sakaide by staying overnight without meals

Currently, online reservations mainly include room-only plans. If you wish to have dinner or breakfast, please contact the inn directly to see if it is available. Don’t just assume that meals are included; check the details of your reservation plan.

There are restaurants around Sakaide Station, but the closed days and evening closing times vary by store. On days when you arrive late, decide where to eat in advance and manage what you bring to avoid giving human food to the cat.

Also a base for solo travelers and pilgrimages

The 2026 review is for single occupancy, and the guest also mentions use by pilgrims. This is a small inn with 7 rooms in total, and is a good choice for solo travelers who want to stay overnight in a Japanese-style room without meals included at an affordable price.

On the other hand, in old wooden inns, sounds from the hallways and neighboring rooms may be easily transmitted. When leaving early in the morning or returning late at night, please move quietly so as not to disturb other guests and the resident cat’s rest.

About 10 minutes walk from Sakaide Station

The location is at 3-3-25 Honcho, Sakaide City. The Sakaide Inn Association guides that it is about a 10-minute walk from JR Sakaide Station and about 7 minutes by car from Sakaide North IC, making it a location easy to consider by public transport or by car.

Check-in 4pm, check-out 10am. If you use the parking lot, please check the number of parking spaces and the start time. It is an inn that is easily accessible by train to the Takamatsu area and can be easily incorporated as a tourist base within Kagawa Prefecture.
