“Resort Inn Misty” in Kurumayama Kogen, Chino City, Nagano Prefecture, is a small inn located on the plateau along the Venus Line. It features creative cuisine, a lounge with a fireplace, a relaxation menu, and is home to resident cats Goboten and Mist.

Goboten available upon request

In the 2025 Rakuten Travel resident cat ranking, Goboten appears upon request from a guest and was introduced as a friendly cat that likes to snuggle up. The 2026 version also features Mist, who is shy but now purrs and can be pampered.

This site classifies it as B because there are specific instructions for interacting with guests under the management of the inn. We cannot confirm the current information about coming to the guest room. If you would like to meet a cat, please quietly discuss it with the staff when making a reservation or upon arrival, and avoid asking staff to bring the cat out against its will.

Goboten is an active cat who sometimes walks on beams, while Mist is a shy cat who likes to sit under a kotatsu. Even cats living in the same accommodation have different personalities, so you need to change the way you interact with each cat.

Fireplace lounge and highland guest room

Kurumayama Kogen Tourism Association states that inside the inn there is a lounge with a fireplace, a tea terrace, a counter bar, dining, and a relaxation room. The guest rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, a TV, and hot water circulation heating.

At Kurumayama, which is at a high altitude, the mornings and evenings are cold even in the summer, and there is snow in the winter. Plan your stay to not only spend time with resident cats, but also to relax in the lounge and enjoy the views of the highlands.

Enjoy food and desserts

The tourism association introduces it as an inn that takes pride in its cuisine, and also explains its commitment to dessert, which is the perfect way to end a meal. The menu is not set in stone, as the inn incorporates seasonal and local ingredients. Please check the reservation plan for meals included, room only, and allergies.
