This article automatically lists published articles for which Neko Yado Research has confirmed a video. The cats currently living at an inn, accommodation plans, prices, and interaction arrangements may have changed since filming. Check each inn’s official information before booking.
Inns where resident cats sometimes visit guest rooms, inns where guests can interact with cats inside the building, and accommodations with rescue cat shelters. This directory lets you explore the closeness of cat encounters and the atmosphere of each inn through videos, which can convey details that photographs and text alone may miss.
Selecting a thumbnail in the directory takes you to the individual article on Neko Yado Research. Videos can be played within those articles. The directory stays lightweight because it does not load YouTube immediately.

The listing order is not a ranking. “A — Cats may visit guest rooms,” “B — Interaction inside the inn or in dedicated spaces,” and “C — Resident cats are present (interaction unconfirmed)” describe closeness to the cats, rather than the quality of an inn.
Points to keep in mind when watching videos
- Cats shown when a video was filmed may not still live at the inn.
- Even at inns where cats visit guest rooms, visits depend on the cats’ own choices and health.
- Prices, meals, shuttle services, and check-in conditions shown in a video may change.
- Videos published by third parties document those creators’ stays; they are not on-site reporting by Neko Yado Research.
- Do not pick up, chase, or wake cats. Follow the inn’s rules.
How this directory is updated
Adding a related video to an individual article automatically adds it to this directory. We review listings when a video is deleted, made private, or disabled for embedding, or when we confirm a newer official video with clearer content.
How we select videos
We consider only videos that clearly relate to an inn and its cats and can be embedded. Official videos from the inn take priority. For other videos, we select those for which the facility name, cats, and filmed content can be confirmed.
| Item checked | Decision when listing |
|---|---|
| Publisher | Distinguish between the inn’s official account and a third party |
| Filmed subjects | Check whether the inn and its resident cats are clearly featured |
| Availability | Check that the video is not deleted, private, or disabled for embedding |
| Currency | Do not present the cats’ presence or the inn’s arrangements as confirmed current information |
| Content | Do not use it to recommend unsafe interaction |
We record video view counts and verification dates in our operational records. We do not rank videos solely by view counts or list an unlimited number of videos for the same inn.
The roles of videos and individual articles
Videos are supplementary material for understanding an inn’s atmosphere. Check the evidence in individual articles and the inn’s official guidance for prices, shuttle services, and opportunities to meet cats. A cat appearing in a guest room on video does not, by itself, establish a current category A classification or guarantee a visit.
Check the video title, publisher, and filming date before playing it. Do not copy behavior from old footage as though it were the inn’s current rules; follow the guidance given after arrival.
